Because Ferrari had designed their car in the wrong way. In the opposite to what Ferrari normally did- They went for aero, not power. The opposite of that famous Enzo quote. But, they did have an innovative front wing. It looked weird, but it was slightly effective. Maybe too effective, because it upset the balance of the car too much to the point where it behaved like a front wheel drive car sometimes. So why was it so bad?
